March 3, 2026 Total Lunar Eclipse

This event is the first of two lunar eclipses in 2026. The eclipse viewing area is centered over the Pacific Ocean and will be visible in most parts of North America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. From South America, only observers in the northwestern portion can view any of the total phase of the eclipse. Observers in other parts of South America will see the sun set before totality begins. This eclipse will be completely invisible in Africa and Western Europe.
