SUMMARY:May 16\, 2022 Total Lunar Eclipse
DESCRIPTION:The lunar eclipse of May 16\, 2022\, will be the first of two total lunar eclipses to occur this year with the second lunar eclipse occurring in November.   The May eclipse will last over 5 hours\, with the totality phase lasting 1 hour and 24 minutes.  The totality phase of the eclipse will be visible in most of North America (including all of the continental United States)\, all of South America\, as well as most of Africa and western parts of Europe.
